Operation Mad Planter, Part 2

Working tools:

1. Seed potatoes, Norland Red, 22 cents, 2 each
2. Bayonet, East German manufacture, $19.97, 1 each
3. Old shovel, 1 each

The potatoes have been cut into fourteen seeds with the blade, and are being allowed to sit overnight. This will allow the seeds to heal before field operations with the shovel.

Bayonets have gotten much shorter since 1776. This must be because back in those days, men fought in formation and bayonet length was at a premium. In modern maneuver warfare, the East Germans must have considered compactness to be more important.

In any case, it’s an excellent knife for twenty bucks.
